I am a retired product designer. I have designed a line
of woodenware products for which I need one or more
production woodworking sources.
The first product is similar to a medium size bowl.
It is 8" x 8" by 2" deep with straight sided pocket.
Lathe plate mounting or 4-jaw chucking is permitted.
Waterproof laminating to another same type wood is
required.
Preferred material is maple but other cut and split
resistant materials may be suitable.
Finish is mineral oil rub.
The operations include:
1. Square block 8" x 8" x 1 3/16" thick block (solid
or laminated).
2. Form 6" Dia. x 1" Deep pocket with 3/4" radius
between flat bottom and straight sidewall. Lathe
plate mounting or four-jaw chuck permissable.
3. Drill two 1" dia. by 1/32" deep holes on face of block.
4. Groove across rear surface of block 1/4" deep x 2" wide.
5. Laminate same size square 3/4" block to grooved front
block with waterproof glue.
6. Bevel all corners 1/4" x 45 deg.
7. Rub all over with mineral oil
8. Bubble wrap individual parts and ship.
Initial production requirements are expected to be in
the 100 to 250 parts range.
One to ten "prototypes" for marketing purposes may be
required.
Interested parties please E-mail me qualifications for
making items of this description.
References will also be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much.
