A Mortising Machine is a specialized woodworking machine which is utilized for cutting rectangular or square recesses or mortises into wood.
The mortise machine is actually a drill press which can be used for drilling square holes. It is utilized almost entirely for joining mortise and tenon.
This machine generally has just one speed and in most cases will only take a handful of bits in different sizes.
The normal bit sizes consist of 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 1/2 and 3/4.
