Comments:I realise this may be a long shot...I, along with two other Americans are in Northeast Thailand in the process of setting up a training and certification program for Thais. Although we do have many small tools we are in dire need of a table saw, bandsaw, jointer/planer. It's a bit difficult buying new tools and shipping them here with all the red tape, etc. Used tools are easier and the import duty tax quite a bit less. Much easier is locating tools in Thailand that are no longer being used due to the slump in the economy. Any information concerning the above tools either in Thailand or anywhere else would be greatly apprecitated.

Comments: I recently acquired a rusty old Boise Crane 6" jointer for 5 bucks.. After much sweat and new bearings, have rebuilt it to (almost??) new shape. Somehow I lost the inner bearing cap--cast iron thing thing w/2 screws. I assume this was to hold the press fit bearing in place, so rigged a couple of small clips to do same. Is this correct. Also need to know operating RPM speed and HP motor size recommended. Anyone out there have an owners manual? Date on infeed table casting was 3/22/54. Great, solid machine.

I am a retired plumber and home wood worker and heat my house and shop with woodstoves. About 5 years ago I hit upon an idea to make the moving of those heavy firewood logs from the tree stump to where I split them much easier. In these hills of West Virginia it is not always possible to get the tractor close to where you fell a large white oak, so cutting up the trunk into dimensioned logs and rolling them with The Log Roller was much easier than carrying them. These tongs have been a real labor savor.
